I am set out to prove that obedience to God does work. If you're reading this and your don't know who I am, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Josh Pitka (now imagine me standing up in the midst of a room full of people and saying, "Hello, my name is Josh Pitka, and I am a 'godoholic'"). There, I've confessed it straight up. There are no ifs, ands, or buts: Jesus Christ has me. Now he hasn't always 'had me'. I first met Jesus at 16 when I got saved, and walking with him in a deeper way continually for the last 10 years has been both amazing, and challenging.  But he has continually 'had me' more and more as each month and year has gone by, and now more than ever. Some people argue that the Bible, or living for God is confusing.  However, it is not confusing.  There can definitely be confusing moments, but I understand now that it is indeed not confusing at all.  Living for God (or in other words, 'being a Christian') is actually quite simple.  I can sum it up in a word: Obey.

Obey God.

I want to prove that this works.  In subsequent journal entries I will explain what I mean by that.  In fact, I shall attempt to write a note every day explaining my journey, in hope that it will encourage you to continue to 'journey with the Holy Spirit into the good and pleasing and perfect will of God'.

Let me leave you today with this scripture from Romans 12:1-2 in the NLT (New Living Translation):

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you.  Let them be a living and holy sacrifice - the kind he will find acceptable.  This is truly the way to worship him.  Don't copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.  Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Guys if you do the above, you'll do well...
